ZEF
Terms of Use
At a glance
- ZEF is a planning aid. Forecasts can be wrong, and a low-risk route isn't a promise of safe roads. Always follow official warnings, road signs and your own judgment.
- Don't handle your phone while driving. Set up your route before you go and let voice alerts, CarPlay or Android Auto do the rest.
- Routes are for regular vehicles. Vehicle profiles change how weather risk is scored. They don't add height, weight or other road restrictions to the route.
- ZEF is free to use. PRO is an optional subscription that renews automatically until you cancel it in the App Store or Google Play.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Nurcihan Fakioglu (“we”, “us”), the developer of ZEF (“the app”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
Our Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your information and is part of these Terms.
You must be old enough to enter into a binding agreement where you live, or have permission from a parent or guardian.
2. Driving safety
Your safety is your responsibility. ZEF helps you plan around the weather. It doesn't replace official weather warnings, road authorities, emergency services or your own judgment, and it can't see the road in front of you.
- Pay attention to the road. Don't read, type or tap on your phone while driving. Plan your route before you set off, or have a passenger use the app. Follow all laws about using phones and navigation devices in vehicles.
- Forecasts aren't certain. Weather data, radar images and official alerts may be wrong, late, incomplete or unavailable. Risk levels (Low, Caution, High, Severe) are estimates based on forecasts. “Low”, “Clear” or no warning doesn't mean the road is safe.
- The app doesn't show road conditions. Ice, flooding, closures, accidents, construction and other hazards may not be reflected in the app.
- Routes are for regular vehicles. Routes come from Apple or Google and are calculated for passenger vehicles. Vehicle profiles (such as truck, RV or motorcycle) only change how weather risk is scored. They don't consider your vehicle's height, weight, length or cargo, or road restrictions. Always follow posted signs and road restrictions.
- Alerts can be missed. Voice alerts and notifications depend on your device's location, internet connection, volume, battery and permission settings. Don't rely on them as your only warning.
- Coverage varies. Radar is available only in some regions. Official alerts depend on what each country's weather services provide, and some countries have none in the app.
- Not for other uses. Don't use ZEF for emergencies or for aviation, marine or other purposes where an error could cause serious harm.
3. What ZEF provides
ZEF shows the weather along driving routes, colors routes by weather risk, shows radar and official weather alerts where available, and can warn you with voice alerts and notifications while you drive. It also offers widgets, CarPlay and Android Auto.
The app needs an internet connection for most features, and your mobile carrier may charge for data. Some features also need location or notification permissions.
4. ZEF PRO subscriptions
- Free and PRO. ZEF is free to use. ZEF PRO is an optional subscription that unlocks additional features. The features in each plan are described in the app and on the store listing, and may change over time.
- Payment. PRO is sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by country.
- Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period (for example, monthly or yearly) at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Free trials. If a free trial is offered, the subscription starts and you're charged when the trial ends, unless you cancel before then. On the App Store, any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time in your store account: on iPhone, in Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android, in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Deleting the app doesn't cancel a subscription. After you cancel, PRO stays active until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Refunds. Payments are handled by Apple or Google, and refunds are subject to their policies. We can't issue refunds ourselves. This doesn't affect any rights you have under consumer law.
- Price changes. If the price of your subscription changes, Apple or Google will let you know in advance as their rules require, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
- Restoring and platforms. ZEF has no accounts. You can restore PRO with “Restore Purchases” on devices signed in to the same Apple ID or Google account. A subscription bought on the App Store doesn't unlock PRO on Android, and vice versa.
5. Your license and acceptable use
We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use the app on devices you own or control, under these Terms and the rules of the store you downloaded it from.

The app relies on services and data from other companies and agencies, such as Apple Weather, the US National Weather Service and NOAA, Apple Maps, Google Maps Platform, RevenueCat, the App Store, Google Play, CarPlay and Android Auto. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to them, and we aren't responsible for their content, availability or accuracy.
- Weather data is provided by Apple Weather and other sources. See the Apple Weather data sources.

- On iPhone, maps, routes and place search are provided by Apple Maps.
7. Intellectual property
The app, including its design, text, graphics, icons and software, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. Weather data, maps and other third-party content belong to their providers. These Terms don't give you any rights to our names, logos or trademarks.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.
8. Changes and availability
We may update, change, suspend or discontinue the app or any feature at any time, for example to fix problems, improve the app, respond to changes from our data providers or meet legal requirements. The app may be temporarily unavailable, including for maintenance. We don't guarantee that the app or any data source will always be available.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app and all weather, radar, alert, map and route information are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, timeliness, reliability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that any information in it is correct or complete.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or opportunity, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app. This includes decisions you make based on information in the app, delays, and accidents, injury or damage connected with driving or weather.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for ZEF PRO in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that can't be excluded or limited under applicable law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you're a consumer, you also keep the mandatory rights that the law of your country of residence gives you.
11. Termination
You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it. Remember to cancel any PRO subscription in your store account. We may suspend or end your access to the app or our servers if you break these Terms. Sections 2, 6, 7, 9, 10, 12 and 14 continue to apply after these Terms end.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of {{COUNTRY}}, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled by the courts of {{CITY}}, {{COUNTRY}}. If you're a consumer, you can also bring a claim in the courts of your country of residence, and you keep any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
13. Additional terms for the App Store
If you downloaded ZEF from the Apple App Store, the following also applies:
- These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
- Your license to use the app is limited to Apple-branded devices you own or control, as allowed by the Usage Rules in the App Store Terms of Service. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app doesn't conform to any applicable warranty, you can notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- Apple isn't responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app doesn't meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
- Apple isn't responsible for investigating, defending, settling or discharging any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual property rights.
- You confirm that you aren't located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as “terrorist supporting”, and that you aren't on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and can enforce them against you.
14. General
- Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms. We'll post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top. Where the law requires it, we'll also notify you in the app. If you keep using the app after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the app.
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver. If we don't enforce a part of these Terms, that doesn't mean we give up the right to do so later.
- Transfer. We may transfer these Terms to someone who takes over the app. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms.
